Terms of Service
Effective date: 23 May 2026 | Last updated: 23 May 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Roamr mobile application (the "App") operated by Roamr ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the App.
1. End User License Agreement (EULA)
This section constitutes a Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("EULA") as required by Apple's App Store terms.
1.1 Acknowledgement
You acknowledge that this EULA is between you and Roamr only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Roamr, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. This EULA may not provide for usage rules that are less restrictive than the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (the "Usage Rules").
1.2 Scope of License
Roamr grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, subject to the Usage Rules. This license does not allow you to use the App on any device you do not own or control, and you may not distribute or make the App available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time, except as permitted by the Usage Rules.
1.3 Maintenance and Support
Roamr is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services for the App, as specified in this EULA or as required by applicable law. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.
1.4 Warranty
Roamr is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be Roamr's sole responsibility.
1.5 Product Claims
You acknowledge that Roamr, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims you or any third party may have relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Product liability claims
- Any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement
- Claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation
1.6 Intellectual Property Claims
In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Roamr, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
1.7 Legal Compliance
You represent and warrant that:
- You are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country
- You are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties
1.8 Third-Party Beneficiary
You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this EULA against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

3. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- All data you create within the App, including places, trips, photos, and notes
- Maintaining backups of your data (the App supports iCloud sync, but you should also consider device backups)
- Ensuring your use of the App complies with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations
- Any content you share using the App's export and sharing features
- The accuracy of your travel records (the App does not verify visit claims)
4. Data & Privacy
Personal travel data — visited places, photos, notes, personal trips — is stored locally on your device and, if enabled, in your personal iCloud account. We do not collect, store, or have access to this data.
If you opt into friends features, a minimal account profile (username, display name, optional bio + home country) and any content you explicitly share (shared trips, shared inspo folders) is stored on our hosting provider (Supabase). For full details on what's stored, why, and how to delete it, see our Privacy Policy.
5. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, source code, graphics, icons, user interface, brand name, and all related materials, is owned by Roamr and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the App
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use the Roamr name, logo, or branding without prior written consent
Your content: All content you create within the App — including photos, notes, trip records, and travel data — remains your property.
For personal (on-device) content: you do not grant us any rights, and we never see it.
For content you explicitly share via friends features (public profile fields, shared trips, shared inspo folders): you grant Roamr a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display that content solely to the collaborators, followers, or audience you've chosen (e.g. anyone if your profile is public; only approved followers if private; only invited collaborators for shared trips / folders). This licence exists only to make the friends feature work; it ends when you delete the content or your account.
6. Map Data & Third-Party Services
The App uses Apple MapKit to display maps and geographic data. Your use of map features is subject to Apple's Maps Terms of Use.
Please note:
- Map data, borders, and geographic information are provided by Apple and may not be perfectly accurate or up to date
- Country and city data within the App is curated for travel tracking purposes and may not reflect official geopolitical boundaries
- Destination information, Roamr scores, and travel tips are for informational and entertainment purposes only
7. Travel Decisions & Safety
Roamr is a tracking and inspiration tool. It is not a travel advisory service.
- Destination information, travel tips, budget estimates, and suggested places are for informational purposes only
- Always verify travel requirements, visa and entry rules, safety conditions, health advisories, and local regulations through official government sources before travelling
- We are not responsible for any travel decisions made based on information within the App
- We do not guarantee the safety, legality, or accessibility of any destination listed in the App
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Share content generated by the App that is misleading, harmful, or violates the rights of others
- Use automated systems or bots to interact with the App
- Scrape, harvest, or otherwise extract data about other Roamr users or their content
- Use the friends features to harass, intimidate, impersonate, or threaten any person
- Post or share content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, illegal, or that infringes on others' intellectual property
- Spam follow / invite requests or otherwise abuse the social features
9. Friends, Accounts & Shared Content
These additional terms apply if you create an account to use friends features.
Account creation
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required to use third-party services in your jurisdiction) to create a Roamr account.
- You may sign in using Apple, Google, or email + password. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
- One account per person. Do not impersonate anyone else or misrepresent your identity.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Public profile and discoverability
- By default, your profile is public — your username, display name, optional bio, and follower / following counts are visible to other Roamr users.
- You can switch your profile to private at any time from the Friends tab. Private profiles require approval before someone can follow you.
- Your username may be searched, scanned via QR, or shared via link. Choose a username you are comfortable being publicly associated with.
Shared trips and inspo folders
- When you create a shared trip or shared inspo folder, you control who is invited. Collaborators see the contents only after they accept the invite.
- All collaborators have edit rights to the shared content. By inviting someone, you accept that they can add, modify, and remove content within that shared trip or folder.
- You can leave a shared trip / folder at any time. The shared content persists for the remaining collaborators unless the sole owner deletes it.
- Do not share private information about third parties (e.g., another person's home address) inside shared content.
Account suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, including but not limited to: posting harassing or illegal content, impersonating another person, abusing the social features, or attempting to disrupt the service for other users. Where possible, we will give you notice and a chance to address the issue before account termination.
Deleting your account
You can request account deletion at any time. See Section 10 of our Privacy Policy for the deletion process and what happens to shared content you co-own with others.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components
- Travel information, destination data, Roamr scores, or budget estimates will be accurate, complete, or current
- Data will not be lost — always maintain your own backups
- The App will be compatible with future iOS versions or devices
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ROAMR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of data or travel records
- Travel decisions made based on information within the App
- Inability to access or use the App
- Any loss, injury, or damage arising from travel to destinations featured in the App
- Errors or inaccuracies in map data, country information, or destination details
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Roamr and its developers from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
13. Modifications to the App and Terms
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, update, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice
- Update these Terms from time to time
Changes to these Terms will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with updated Terms, you should discontinue use of the App.
14. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. You can delete all associated data from within the App's Settings → Reset Everything before uninstalling.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Roamr regarding the use of the App and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
